How Do We Do It?
The UX Team at Tallan examines and understands the goals, requirements, and expectations of our clients, their applications, and their end-users, and iteratively fashions workflow, user interfaces, interactivity, and visual design to meet those expectations. The objective is to present information, corresponding visual and auditory aids, and interactive components logically, efficiently, and intuitively. The process encompasses iterations of Discovery, Structure, Design, and Execution, by a team of designers and developers who sit at the crossroads of business, technology and design.
We start by conducting interviews with clients, gaining access to users’ environments to better see their world, and having up-front discussions about what can be realistically achieved in the time-frame of the project. Then, a list of most-needed features called the Product Backlog is created; this is a core concept in the world of Agile development practices. The Backlog, combined with an understanding of the overall project and product features, then influences the early-phase deliverables of the project. Depending on needs and budget, a typical list of UX Design processes might include:
- Demographic Research
- Task Process Analysis
- Usability Testing
Our development and QA teams use these documents, along with technical documents prepared on a different track, to iteratively create and test code that delivers features of highest value, until features that are left are too low in business value to continue. Furthermore, our clients use these deliverables to keep an eye on the “big picture” and measure progress.
